The first week of the 2012 NFL season wrapped up with a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Here's the recap of this week's Monday night games:

San Diego 22 — Oakland 14

Philip Rivers threw for 231 yards and a touchdown and Nate Kaeding kicked five field goals, as the San Diego Chargers beat the Oakland Raiders, 22-14, in Oakland on Monday night.

Largely outplayed early, San Diego (1-0) still led 10-6 at halftime thanks to a Raiders' turnover and two third-down penalties that extended the Chargers' lone touchdown drive. In the second half, Oakland (0-1) replaced injured long snapper Jon Condo with reserve linebacker Travis Goethel, whose three bad snaps resulted in one blocked punt and two broken plays, shifting the momentum — and field position — to San Diego.

Trailing 22-6 in the fourth quarter, Oakland narrowed the lead when Carson Palmer threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Rod Streater with 54 seconds to play. The same duo hooked up on the 2-point conversion to account for the final score.

Malcom Floyd caught four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown for San Diego, which managed just 32 yards rushing on the game. The Chargers held Raiders' running back Darren McFadden to just 32 yards rushing on 15 carries, but he did lead Oakland with 13 receptions for 86 yards. Palmer completed 32 of 46 passes for 297 yards and the late score.

Baltimore 44 — Cincinnati 13

Joe Flacco passed for 299 yards and two touchdowns and Ed Reed returned an interception for another score, as the Baltimore Ravens beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 44-13, in Baltimore on Monday night.

Baltimore (1-0) rolled up 430 total yards behind Flacco and a new, no-huddle offense that helped the Ravens to a 17-3 lead just minutes into the second quarter. After Cincinnati (0-1) clawed within 17-13 midway through the third, Baltimore pulled away with 27 unanswered points to extend its home winning streak to 11.

Bengals' quarterback Andy Dalton completed 22 of 37 passes for 221 yards, but he had two turnovers and was sacked four times. BenJarvus Green-Ellis carried 18 times for 91 yards and a score for Cincinnati, while Andrew Hawkins had eight receptions for 86 yards to lead the Bengals.

Ray Rice rushed 10 times for 68 yards and two scores for the Ravens, while teammate Dennis Pitta caught five passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.
