Rowan Atkinson, better known as Mr. Bean, may be calling it quits as far as the character that brought him popularity. He says that the character of Mr. Bean has cost him some jobs because people don't take him seriously. But there's another reason why he thinks it may be time to hang up the brown suit and silly faces. Keep reading to find out what that reason is.

Say it ain't so!!! Mr. Bean has brought myself and I know many others plenty of laughs since the early 90's. I remember watching episodes of his show as a kid, and crying laughing. It appears though that the man behind the character doesn't think it's funny anymore. From Yahoo! Movies:

"The stuff that has been most commercially successful for me —- basically quite physical, quite childish —- I increasingly feel I'm going to do a lot less of," he told the Daily Telegraph's Review. "Apart from the fact that your physical ability starts to decline, I also think someone in their 50s being childlike becomes a little sad. You've got to be careful."

Atkinson admits that playing the well-meaning but bumbling clown has kept him from scoring more serious roles. He hopes to finally be seen in a different light as he prepares to make his "straight play" debut in a revival of Simon Gray's "Quartermaine's Terms" in London's West End.

While I see his point, I'll just say that a man of any age acting that way is funny to me. Don't Go!!!

What do you think about this? Are you a Bean fan?
