The inaugural National Fried Chicken Festival took place last year in New Orleans. It was a success, so much so the event organizers weren't completely ready for the huge, 40,000 person attendance. This year, event organizers say they're ready, and are going to make this an incredible experience for fried chicken lovers from around the country.

This year the National Fried Chicken Festival is being presented by Raising Cane's, has been expanded to fill two days, and will be held at Woldenberg Park, a larger location. Nola.com reports that the number of vendors will expand from 25 to 35.

You'll be able to eat fried chicken from other states too. There will be vendors from New York, North Carolina and Georgia. I love the idea of trying chicken from other parts of the country!

Last year, vendors simply weren't prepared for the amount of attendees, and as a result, folks had to wait in some pretty long lines. This year, festival producer Cleveland Spears III says these issues have been fixed.

From nola.com -

"When we were walking through the festival, we were watching vendors who had one fryer or residential grade fryers. That was a miss on our part last year.

The vendors we had were not prepared. They didn't have enough staff and equipment and they didn't have enough food."

This year, equipment suppliers are available to vendors to rent items, such as commercial-grade fryers and warmers to vendors.

The National Fried Chicken Festival is all going down Sept. 23rd and 24th in Woldenberg Park in New Orleans. For more information, head over to friedchickenfestival.com.
