Eat Jambalaya To Help Healing House
Enjoy eating a south Louisiana delicacy, and helping out kids at the same time? You'll get your chance to do both next Friday! Healing House; Hope for Grieving Children is hosting its second annual “Cookin’ for the Kids” Jambalaya Cook-off Friday October 5, 2012 from 11:00am-2:00pm in the River Ranch Town Center. The event is sponsored by Apache. Bring your family, friends and co-workers, and come ready to enjoy more than a fifteen different jambalaya creations, and live music by Cory Landry. Wristbands are $7 in advance, or $10 on the day of the event.
All proceeds from “Cookin’ for the Kids” will benefit local Acadiana families that have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. Healing House; Hope for Grieving Children provides an atmosphere that allows children ages 4 to 18 to express their grief through interactive play, expressive art work and discussion groups with peers experiencing the same trauma. All services provided by the Healing House are free of charge and run by volunteers.
