The flu epidemic in Louisiana is having a major impact on the local blood supply. Because of this, United Blood Services is putting out the call for badly needed donations.

In conjunction with their annual gumbo cookoff, the Cajun Harley Owner's Group (Cajun HOG) will be holding their annual blood drive.

United Blood Service is having its "Pay It Forward" end-of-the-year blood drive through December 31.

Because the blood donations are down, they platelet donations were also down.

September 10, 2016 has been established as National Blood Donation Day, and United Blood Services in Lafayette is offering special incentives to donors.

This week is the final week to Pay It Forward with United Blood Services' Life For 3 Holiday Blood Drive which ends on Friday, January 2nd.

United Blood Services is asking you to Pay It Forward this holiday season by donating blood between December 22nd and January 2nd. When you donate blood, UBS will donate $3 to the organization of your choosing: American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
