In the days following the release of IT, several fans (ourselves included) began speculating about who might play the adult versions of the Losers Club in the sequel. One of the most popular choices for the role of grown-up Beverly Marsh, played in the first film by the scene-stealing Sophia Lillis, was Jessica Chastain — a sensible pick, considering that Chastain previously starred in director Andres Muschietti’s feature debut, Mama. Deadpool might need to watch his back. IT, the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s horror epic, just broke one of the R-rated box office champ’s records — and is primed to break a couple more before the end of the weekend.
