I-10 closures

The situation continues to unfold.

The I-10 Widening Project continues over the next two nights as the project focuses on widening a key stretch involving the border parishes of Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes.

DOTD crews are out this week on Interstate 10 in Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes, either performing needed maintenance or working to complete the I-10 Widening Project scheduled to be finished this summer.

As part of the I-10 Widening Project, DOTD crews will be working in two main areas in Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes - at the Louisiana Avenue and Breaux Bridge exits.

As the I-10 Widening Project rolls on towards completion, there will be three ramp closures happening overnight on Thursday from 8 PM - 6 AM.

The interstate is closed from the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge all the way to the Texas border at the Sabine River.

Trooper Thomas Gossen tell KPEL News that all lanes of I-10 are now open as crews have completed the work on the power lines.

Construction on I-10 continues this week as DOTD workers will be focusing on a stretch of the interstate in St. Martin Parish.

There are a couple of lane closures happening on I-10 this week, as part of the I-10 Widening Project.

One of the trucks involved is a welding truck, so authorities decided to close both westbound lanes as firefighters can put out the blaze.
