UPDATE: (12:25 P.M.)

All lanes of I-10 eastbound have now opened, but there is a very long delay as traffic is getting moving again.

A vehicle on the shoulder of the road on I-10E over Whiskey Bay was hit by an 18-wheeler, and the search is on for a person who reportedly fell into the water.

UPDATE: According to WAFB, the person who fell into the water has been found by a private fisherman and is being brought to seek medical attention along with two other people who were also involved in the accident.

Details are developing, but the search is on for someone who was in a vehicle that was hit and somehow ended up in the Atchafalaya because of the crash.
