A source tells ESPN's Dan Graziano that the Saints are close to signing linebacker Manti Te'o.

Te'o was a second round draft pick out of Notre Dame for the Chargers in 2013. The Saints seem like they're not going to have a linebacker problem as they've already got nine in their corps. Adding Te'o would put them 10 deep.

The 26-year-old Hawaiian native has played in 38 NFL games in his career, with 34 starts. He's acquired 233 tackles, 160 of which were solo. He's got 1 and a half sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble.

This might just be me, but every time I hear his name, I immediately think of the catfishing escapade that he went through when he was at Notre Dame. Unfortunately it'll probably follow him around for awhile (forever).

'Member that?
