Peter Jackson Confirms Shooting Wrap On ‘The Hobbit’

Today, director Peter Jackson confirmed that they have wrapped principal photography on the two part film adaptation of 'The Hobbit'. The first part, "An Unexpected Journey" will be released this December on the 14th. The second part, titled "There And Back Again" will be released a year later on December 13th, 2013.

Jackson had this to say via his official Facebook page:

We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!

Maybe we will see some new footage at this year's Comic-Con, which is next week, July 12-15th.
