New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Eric Gordon underwent surgery this morning on his left ankle. The point of the minor-arthroscopic procedure was to remove particles of scar tissue. Gordon is hoping this will help with pain and irritation he's experienced in the ankle.

Eric is expected to return to basketball activities this summer after a short rehab.

Gordon has dealt with a plethora of injuries since being traded to the Pelicans (then Hornets) in 2011. After only playing in 9 games during the 2011-2012 season, Gordon played in 42 this year. While he led New Orleans in scoring with 17.0, he struggled in the second half of games with conditioning.

He is currently in the second year of a four-year, $58 million contract
