After being issued a misdemeanor summons, Pampered Paws owner, Michelle Jeanmard, and her daughter, Sheri Dugas, have been formally charged with cruelty to animals.

Five months after being issued misdemeanor summons after a YouTube video showed dogs at Pampered Paws being slapped and mistreated, Michelle Jeanmard, owner of Pampered Paws, and her daughter Sheri Dugas, were indicted in late October.

Jeanmard released a statement after the video was posted saying that it was edited and out of context. She also went on to say that Pampered Paws, "has been regulated according to state law for 14 years and has not had any abuse complaints from customers."

Arraignments for the two women are set for December 2nd.

According to state law, if convicted, they could face up to 6 months in jail, and a $1,000 fine.
