The owner and an employee of Pampered Paws in Lafayette were both issued misdemeanor summons for a cruelty to animals charge after a video, showing them abusing animals, went viral.

From KATC:

The owner of Pampered Paws has been identified as Michelle Jeanmard, and the employee has been identified as Sherry Dugas. Animal Control officials say they began their investigation after being flooded with calls from people who saw the YouTube video showing several dogs at the facility. We did receive a statement on behalf of Pampered Paws. They say the video has been edited and the content is out of context. They say the video was created by two people who want to destroy not only their business, but also them personally. The statement goes on to say they will be having a professional editor examine the video to prove it was edited and looped to mislead the public.

In addition, they say "the police have been investigating them (the people who released the video) for threats against us at the business and our homes and even extended family and friends for well over a year now. This is just the latest attempt to slander and destroy an ex out of jaded spite and hurt feelings. All pets serviced here are treated in a manner that respects them, the pet owners, and keeps the groomers safe."

Here's the video so you can decide for yourself...if you're a pet lover, you may not want to watch.

Do you think this is animal abuse, or the act of a scorned ex?
