If you weren't aware, the current referees for the NFL are in a lockout due to pay and other contractual issues. So, that brings in the replacements. Last night at the Hall of Fame game where the Saints took on the Cardinals, they used replacement referees. And that'll continue until the lockout ends. Why this is different than the times before, is one of the replacement referees is the first female referee in NFL history! Keep reading to find out more info about her including when her first game will be!

From Inquisitr:

Shannon Eastin is about to make history. With the NFL referee lockout still in progress Eastin will officiate the Green Bay Packers and San Diego Chargers preseason game on Thursday night. Eastin at that time will become the first female NFL referee.
Eastin is an experienced referee who has served time in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and several high school and small-college leagues.

We'll see if she gets to continue into the regular season:

League officials are currently meeting with representatives for the league’s officiating crew to come up with a long-term contract that will satisfy both sides.
NFL referee’s have been locked out of the league since June when their contracts officially expired and a new collective-bargaining agreement continued to elude them.

So, what do you think?
