LSU Announces That ‘Mike The Tiger’ Has Cancer
LSU announced Monday morning that their live mascot, Mike VI, has cancer.
The bengal tiger, who resides on the campus at LSU, has been diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma. His caretakers noticed swelling in his face and after a number of test, Mike was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his face.
According to initial reports, this a very rare form of cancer, but it will likely NOT spread throughout his body.
We'll continue to follow this sad story. If there's any good thing about this---Mike is in great hands at the LSU Veterinary School.
