According to an insider, Ghostbusters III is still a go, even after the death of Harold Ramis (who starred in the original Ghostbusters, and it's sequel). How's this gonna work?

In a world where ghosts exist, and you can physically see them, how do you write out a character after the actor who played him died?

Harold Ramis, along with Dan Aykroyd and, yes, even Bill Murray were a planned part of Ghostbusters III, if even in just cameo rolls as a sort of "passing the torch" to newcomers.

"He was always great to bounce something off of, and that will certainly be missed," the source says of Ramis. "But it won't affect the script."

Ivan Reitman, who is directing the sequel, will be meeting with the Sony production team in the coming days to assess how to move forward without Ramis. Ghostbusters III is currently in active development.

Harold Ramis served as a co-writer and creator of the characters on the first two Ghostbusters movies, but apparently he had minimal input on the third script.

The script for Ghostbusters III was written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who also wrote for The Office. Obviously it'll now need some revamping.

What do you think of them still going ahead with this movie even though there can be no Egon?
