One Acadiana family is looking for the origin of an old plastic Mardi Gras cup that's been in the family for years. Still being used today, it's beaten up, but continues to be a household favorite drinking instrument. But where is it from?

Take a look at the scratched-up, faded Mardi Gras cup, that really looks more like a plastic tumbler. Do you know of a Mardi Gras that threw these out? Were they handed out at a Mardi Gras Ball? Or could it have been sold at one of the many Mardi Gras stores around the Acadiana area? Can they still be purchased today?

The cup simply says "Mardi Gras" and the family believes the plastic Mardi Gras cup could be 20 years or older. The cup has no other markings or words that connect it to a Mardi Gras krewe, ball or parade. Nor does it lay claim to Lafayette or New Orleans.

The cup is 7 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter at the top. Mardi Gras colors and pink adorn the outside. The inside is solid pink. And as you can tell by the photo, it is not dishwasher safe. It also says, "Wash before using. Not recommended for boiling hot liquids or microwave ovens."

You may have one of these, or maybe had one of these, and know of a Mardi Gras krewe who gave them out or where they were sold or still sold. If you know anything about this cup or where to purchase one just like it, please leave a message in the comment section.
