The City of Scott puts on one of the best and biggest Mardi Gras parades in all of Acadiana, but if you're planning to attend this year, you should be aware of a major change.

The organizers of the parade have announced that the parade route will undergo some significant changes in 2023. For one, it's basically changing directions entirely. (More on that in a bit.)

In previous years, the parade began on Apollo Rd and Delhomme Avenue. It would go down that road to the roundabout, then the Service Rd, down Park West Drive, and eventually into town rolling on St. Mary St and wrapping up on Delhomme Avenue again.

This year, the parade will actually reverse directions (if you will) and begin near the same starting spot. As you'll see in the map below, the end of the parade is basically the roundabout near the interstate.

This seems to shorten the route just a tad, but I'm not quite entirely sure that's the case.

At any rate, thousands of us will get out and enjoy the 26th annual Scott Mardi Gras Parade to be held Sunday, February 12, 2023. Roads close at Noon and the parade starts at 1:00 pm.

For those that have attended this parade before, you know that you should probably "rope off" your section soon! (If you know, you know.)

If you're interested in entering a float in the parade, registration is still going on and you find the registration form at this link.
