Company In Baton Rouge Reveals Plan To Redevelop Condemned Six Flags Site In New Orleans
Six Flags New Orleans has been shut down and a condemned site since August of 2005 when Hurricane Katrina struck the city. Now, almost ten years later, a company out of Baton Rouge has plans to redevelop the site.
Paidia, a company out of Baton Rouge, wants to keep certain parts of the amusement park and also add a water park, a movie production studio and more. According to the the industrial development board, Paidia's proposal is the only one that has been submitted for consideration.
If the plan is approved, Paidia officials say that construction could begin as soon as Summer 2014 and have an opening date of sometime in Spring of 2015.
