Body Found In Bonnet Carre Spillway

The body of a woman was found in Lake Pontchartrain, and police are searching for the woman's identity.

A female body in advanced decomposition was found this morning in Lake Pontchartrain, just west of the entrance canal to the Bonnet Carre Spillway by the KCS Railroad.

Authorities say the woman was wearing a red and white plaid, button-down shirt, a white under shirt and a blue sports bra.

While the incident is still under investigation, anyone with information on the woman's identity, or anything to do to help the investigation, is being asked to call authorities at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
