Band Names Before They Were Famous

Of course we have all heard about bands like Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But those bands started out small fries just like the rest of them. And many started out with different names as well.In honor of  the upcoming Record Store Day (Saturday), a list  was compiled of 40 bands that started out with different band names than their "famous" ones. What's scary is even I didn't know quite a few of these! Here are the Top Five:

1. Red Hot Chili Peppers ( Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem)

2. Nirvana (Pen Cap Chew/Skid Row)

3. Oasis (Rain)

4. The Beatles (Johnny & The Moondogs/ The Quarrymen)

5. Grateful Dead (Mother Mcree's Uptown Jug Champions/ The Warlocks)
