Arizona State’s Student Section Literally Unveils Michael Phelps For ‘Curtain Of Distraction’ [Watch]
To distract the opposing team during free throws, the student section at ASU's basketball games have a "Curtain of Distraction," and 18-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps helped them out big time!
During ASU's game against OSU, the curtain was closed up until it was time for Stephen Thompson Jr. to shoot a couple of free throws. The big reveal was the one and only Michael Phelps!
As the curtains are drawn during Thompson Jr.'s first free throw, Phelps, wearing a swimming cap and what looks like ALL of his gold medals, rips off his shirt for distraction...AND IT WORKED!
But how can you top that for the second free throw?
When the curtains were opened for the second shot, Phelps ripped off his tear-away pants to reveal his usual work uniform, the speedo! Annnnnd...IT WORKED AGAIN!!!
As you hear in the video, Phelps was too good a swimmer, and never went to college. So, it was nice of ASU to help him live out his would-be college days.
