2 La. Companies Announcing Possible & Definite Layoffs In Oil & Gas Industry

Gulf Island LLC in Houma and Carbo Ceramics are warning of possible and definite layoffs, respectively. Both companies serve the oil and gas industry.

One of our news providers at Louisiana Radio Network announce Carbo Ceramics told 61 employees that its New Iberia plant would be closing by June 17th due to market conditions.

According to another news providers at Associated Press, Gulf Island LLC, which is headquartered in Houston, told the Louisiana Workforce Commission that about 227 employees at their Houma plant may lose their jobs if the company doesn't win bids on upcoming projects.
