Will It Go 'Round in Circles was a question asked by a man often referred to as "The Fifth Beatle" Billy Preston. If you live in Youngsville, you don't need Billy Preston or the Beatles to tell you that yes, it will go 'round in circles if you're talking about traffic.

America's unofficial roundabout capital is about two more of these time-saving traffic devices to its infrastructure. Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter revealed plans for the additional roundabouts to be constructed on Chemin Metairie Parkway.

The first would be at Detente Road. The second is planned for Chemin Metairie Parkway and Savoy Road. That location is near the Youngsville Sports Complex and Recreation Center and the Mayor believes the additional roundabouts will help ease traffic congestion in that area in particular.

Construction on the roundabout at Detente Road is set to begin later this year, pending approval of course by the City Council.  The roundabout at Savoy Road would begin construction sometime in 2020. The estimated construction time for each project is about nine to twelve months depending on weather conditions.

Each roundabout is estimated to cost $1.8 million to construct. The city will pay for the roundabouts with two bonds funded by city sales tax revenues.
