YAKk Will Be Live On The Grindhouse Sunday, February 9th

If you were at the 2013 Lafayette Zombie Walk, you probably caught this unique prog metal band live on stage. YAKk will be joining Tai and The Nitis this Sunday night on The Grindhouse for the first time to talk about the history of the band, their songwriting style and much more. Also, you will hear music from YAKk and the Grindhouse premiere of their new song 'Splorgen', which you can listen to in full below.

YAKk's music is based on a character called YAKkMan, a character who is half yak and half human. Shunned by humanity, YAKkman is forced to take on society and all of its obstacles. The character allows the music to have interesting, relevant themes but at the same time allows the band freedom to explore these themes via some off the wall situations.

YAKk's musicians are very passionate about what they do, and no boundaries are accepted in their playing. The music can take you as far as the atmosphere in outer space, to the depths of the ocean. Founded in 2011, the band took a year to prepare material to get themselves grounded and now they are ready to take the scene!
