Want To See History? October 8, 2018 Could Be The Day
The phrase " I Was There". It means a lot to us as a species and as sports fans. Just think about how many times you were there for something big. I know in the Lafayette area about 600,000 people were crammed into Cajun Field on September 14, 1996, when the Ragin Cajuns knocked off Texas A&M in football. How do I know? Because at least that many people have told me, "I Was There"!
If you want to be "there" for history in the NFL then you might want to secure your seats for the October 8th Monday Night NFL game between the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Redskins. That is the night, according to the sports fans new best friend analytics, that Drew Bress will surpass Peyton Manning as the all-time passing yards leader in the NFL.
Let's face it, the NFL didn't put the Saints and Washington on Monday Football that week because they felt that Kirk Cousins against Drew Brees was the matchup of the week.
Obviously things have to line up just right for that day and that game to be the record breaker but let's face it, Drew Brees is pretty consistent and since you know his teammates know about the record they are going to do everything they can to make sure that Brees gets the record and he gets it in Peyton Manning's hometown.
