An explosion at Danos, a gas pipeline company in Gibson, La yesterday has left three people dead and two seriously injured according to the Louisiana State Police.

Two Danos employees,  Samuel Brinlee, 40, of Berwick, and Casey Ordoyne, 36, of Larose, were killed in the explosion.

Eight Danos employees were working at the facility at the time of the accident. Two employees sustained minor injuries and were taken to Terrebonne General Medical Center for treatment. Two Danos employees - Samuel Brinlee, 40, of Berwick, and Casey Ordoyne, 36, of Larose, - were killed.

"Our employees are part of our extended family, and we are devastated by the loss of Sam and Casey," said CEO and President Hank Danos. "We ask for thoughts and prayers for the families and loved ones of the deceased, the survivors and all those impacted as we cope with this difficult loss. This is a sad, sad day."

The identity of the third person killed has not yet been released.

"We are deeply saddened by reports of serious injuries to personnel working at the scene. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families at this very critical time," said Warren Toups, Williams Operations Manager.

Louisiana State Troopers urge that residents in the area should not be alarmed if they see black smoke coming from the site. They say it is not an inhalation hazard and the smoke is a result of sludge burn-off.
