Because of the deaths of two children this morning, parts of Breaux Bridge have canceled trick-or-treating tonight. There will also be a candlelight vigil held.

The candlelight vigil will be held tonight at 8:30pm at Judge Carl Williams Park on West Bridge Street.

Breaux Bridge Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme has ordered that trick-or-treating is canceled west of Bayou Teche, and west of City Hall near the National Guard Armory building.

The cancellation includes the following streets: Malcolm Street, Alva Drive, Courville Street and Begnaud Street.

Trick-or-treating will be held as scheduled on the east side of the Bayou Teche.
