It's surprisingly kind of elaborate.

When you first saw Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, you probably wouldn't have had much want to see how the mask was made. It was just a mask that fit over the actor's face.

Then came Deadpool, that you would think would be the same kind of thing. But there's expressiveness in the face. And there's actually a lot more that it can do.

For example, the "eyes" pop out. So, the black area on the mask pops out with the push of a button that's located on the back of it. This allows for others to quickly be put in, say, for certain stunts to be done, or just so the actor can see better.
