Everybody anywhere is from somewhere. We’ve all got home towns that we know and love. The funny thing though is that while for some their home town is just the place where they grew up, for others it is an important part of their life and their identity. Some cities just represent different. The following is a list of cities with the loudest and proudest citizens. The ones that wear their school colors long after graduation, and are always happy to answer the question, “where you from?”

West Monroe

Everybody knows at least one person from West Monroe. Not to be confused with its sister city to the east, the city of West Monroe is known for one thing and one thing only; high school football. Dominating the state’s 5A class for the better part of two decades, West Monroe boasts a slew of titles, is consistently nationally ranked, has one of the biggest stadiums in the state, and was even showcased on a national reality show for ESPN. It’s a lot to be proud of and citizens from West Monroe are well aware.

What Stands Out: West Monroe’rs are blessed with one of the most interesting accents on the planet. Don’t tell them that though, because for the most part they have no idea. West Monroe’rs love to join in on high school sports conversations and remind those around them that they know what big time high school sports are all about.
