Weezer have announced a smattering of North American dates that will keep them on the road as late as Nov. 10-11 in Orlando, Fla. As previously announced, former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh was found dead in a Chicago hotel room yesterday. Two weeks ago, he apparently had a premonition and dreamed that he would die in his sleep in Chicago. He then posted his premonition via Twitter.

Mikey Welsh, who played bass with the band Weezer from 1998 to 2001 before going on to a career as an artist, was found dead in the Chicago Raffaello Hotel on Saturday. Hotel staff discovered the 40-year-old’s body in his room at 2:50 p.m. when he failed to complete check-out procedures. An autopsy is being performed, but police say no foul play is suspected.

Josh Freese, original member and drummer for A Perfect Circle, has said he won't be able to join APC on thier upcoming tour. He made this statement through his website explaining he has made a comitment to Weezer to play drums with them on their upcoming tour.

Apparently, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is working on a new album which will be sung in mostly Japanese. Rivers is working with Allister bandmate Scotty Murphy on the track and Murphy recently blogged about the effort, saying they’ve been recording the effort for a couple of months...

The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows," from their groundbreaking 1966 album Pet Sounds, is one of the most timeless songs in popular music. Recently, Weezer singer-guitarist Rivers Cuomo recorded a solo cover of the ballad.
