Swamp Surfin’ – Guy Catches Waves In Louisiana Bayou [Video]

I know it's probably hard to imagine, but this guy actually surfs in a Louisiana bayou!

Most people think of surfing on the California coast, or even down in Florida or Hawaii. Did you ever dream that you could do it in Louisiana waters? Meet Dave Posey.

Dave and his wife own a specially modified boat that creates a wake big enough that you're able to surf in it. In older boats, people would have to lean on one side of the boat to create the unique surf wake. Dave's boat has "surf gate" that eliminates the need for everyone in the boat leaning to one side.

They run a business called Ride or Rent Dave's Wakeboat. This allows anyone to learn to surf in the boat's wake. They do their riding in the waterways of the New Orleans metro area.

The rider pulls themselves up using a rope, which they then drop and are able to surf the wake behind the boat until they fall.
