Star Wars: Episode VII has been extremely secretive, as J.J. Abrams is wont to do. But the first casting announcement, while not 100% official, has been made! Keep reading to find out who will be playing the villain!

Adam Driver will be playing a villain in Star Wars: Episode VII that is in the same vein as Darth Vader!

Driver is best known for his role in HBO's Girls. Say what you want about me, I don't care. I watch Girls...he's my favorite character on the show. I think he's gonna do a FANTASTIC job!

Now, more about his casting from Variety:

Sources tell Variety that while no deal is done yet, the “Girls” actor is close to signing on to play the villain in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Exact details are unknown, but the character is said to be in the vein of iconic “Star Wars” villain Darth Vader.

It seems the only thing that was holding up the signing was the shooting schedule for Girls. Not just the next season, but because future Star Wars installments may interfere with future seasons of Girls. All of that, however, seems to have been resolved, and he should be signing on within the next few days.

Other casting choices are likely to be announced in the next month!

Here's something to think about. Driver is 30 years old. I've seen a few places complaining because they're casting such a young actor to take on Luke, Leia, and Han. What these people are not understanding, is that this new Star Wars will most likely be introducing younger Jedi, and other protagonists for Driver's villain to take on.

The script is done, and the movie is set to open December 18th, 2015.

The Sith are starting off strong!
