The Washington Post calls Lt. Higgins the Cajun John Wayne, and dubs him the 'most irresistibly intimidating man in America'!

And can you blame them?  If you've seen Lt. Clay Higgins in any of his weekly Crime Stoppers segments since he started them four months ago, then you know exactly what the Washington Post is talking about.

A muscled Army veteran and hardened street cop who rarely cracks a smile, Higgins may be the most irresistibly intimidating man in America.

If you haven't seen his segments, you need to get on it. Here's how the Washington Post describes Lt. Higgins:

His stern demeanor, back-country drawl and made-for-TV one-liners explain why, in towns across southern Louisiana, he is quickly becoming known as the Cajun John Wayne.

Criminals are listening to Lt. Higgins as well. April 9th, while looking into the camera, he told Ladarious Young to turn himself in to "start to make things right."

“You can’t run from your own guilt, son,” Higgins said into the camera while discussing Young, a local fugitive who was accused of assaulting a woman with a beer bottle. Young was also linked to a casino heist. “You can’t hide from what you’ve done, and you’ll never escape … the long arm of the law,”

The next day, Young turned himself in, and said that he saw the Crimestoppers spot, and that Lt. Higgins telling him to turn himself in had persuaded him to do the right thing.
