New York City is an amazing place to visit. Personally, I wouldn't care to live there but those wanting to cross a visit to the Big Apple off of their bucket list might consider a recent announcement by Southwest Airlines as good news.

The low-cost low fare airline has announced nonstop daily service between New Orleans Louis Armstrong International and LaGuardia in New York City. The airline currently offers one stop and same plane connections to New York but this service would be a direct shot from The Quarter to Queens.

The nonstop service is set to begin on November 4th. A check of the Southwest schedule shows that flights will depart New Orleans about 9:10 AM and arrive in NYC around Noon. Return flights from New York to New Orleans are set to depart LaGuardia at 6:25 PM with the arrival in New Orleans at about 9 PM.

An internet search of fares that was featured on NOLA.com  showed prices ranging from $200 to $400. The variation in price was because of the departure date.
