In Fall of 2019, Showtime released their fantastic docuseries "Murder in the Bayou" about the unsolved murders of eight women in Jefferson Davis Parish between 2005 and 2009. If you still haven't seen it, you need to put this on your "To Do" list asap and here's why...

"Murder in the Bayou" is a five part docuseries about "The Jennings 8", the eight women who were tragically killed between 2005 and 2009 in Jefferson Davis Parish. All eight of the women were connected in various ways, and to this day all of the murders remain unsolved.
Being that this entire sad and terrifying ordeal happened right here in our community, we all know quite a bit about these unsolved murders and have heard many different theories about "who done it".
However, I recently watched "Murder in the Bayou" and learned a lot about this story, many things I had never heard before about these murders.
As a matter of fact, there is one part of "Murder in the Bayou" in particular that turns the investigative magnifying glass on a couple of people I have never heard mentioned before in connection with the Jennings murders and, honestly my jaw hit the floor.
If you haven't yet seen "Murder in the Bayou" due to the fact you don't have Showtime, or maybe you just haven't had a chance to see it yet, right now is the time because it's streaming free on the Showtime app on Amazon Prime until 11/11/21.
"Murder in the Bayou" is definitely and great and entertaining docuseries, but let's not forget that these women and their families still haven't gotten justice or closure. It seems that these heinous murders are beginning to enjoy a wave of attention from the series currently being made available free, and that's a good thing. I hope this new found attention can help to uncover new information that will lead to the arrest of the person, or people responsible.
