Yesterday, we lost the legendary child actress Shirley Temple at the age of 85. What many of you probably did not know, is that her daughter was one a member of the Seattle area sludge metal band Melvins. Temple's daughter is Lori Black, who goes by the stage name Lorax and joined the Melvins in 1987 when the band relocated from Seattle to San Francisco.

Black dated Melvins frontman Buzz Osborne and remained in the band until 1991, appearing on the band’s albums Ozma and BullheadShe then left the band in '91 but returned briefly in 1993 and is credited on their album Houdini. Buzz Osborne has stated even though she is credited on the album, she did not play bass on it.
