The Slayer, Lamb of God and Behemoth tour set to begin on July 12 is one of the most anticipated and heaviest tour packages hitting North American this summer. Unfortunately for Behemoth fans, the Poles have been forced to recruit a fill-in drummer as Inferno awaits the birth of his second child. The good news? Jon 'The Charn' Rice (Scorpion Child, ex-Job for a Cowboy) has been recruited to sit behind the kit.

Rice is a coveted live drummer with existing touring roles in 1349, Abigail Williams, Cephalic Carnage and Sirenia in addition to his full-time position with retro rockers Scorpion Child. Behemoth shared the news on their Facebook page, explaining the situation as seen below.

Behemoth Legions!
We must announce that our drummer, Inferno will not be taking part in the upcoming Slayer tour with Lamb of God:
"I am going to be a father for the second time in my life and it's going to happen in July of 2017. I therefore must apologize to all our fans for not being able to participate in the 2017 Summer, North American tour. I believe that Jon Rice, an amazing drummer, a truly experienced musician, and a good friend of ours, will flawlessly take over my drum throne for this short period and will set the stage on fire!” - Inferno
As much of a disappointment it is not to have our brother with us, we completely support Inferno in this amazing chapter of his life. Rest assured, we’re still bringing one HELL of a show with us and look forward to seeing our North American Legions in full force!

Behemoth are still touring behind one of 2014's most acclaimed metal recordsThe Satanist, which they have explored in full on recent treks around the globe. Frontman Nergal has remained active in the studio, cutting a dark folk record under the Me and That Man moniker and has predicted a new Behemoth album will arrive in 2018 as he has already written over a dozen songs worth of new material for the blackened death metal outfit.
