This past October was the 25th anniversary of the release of the first Mortal Kombat game.

I figured for a nice Throwback Thursday, it would be fun to see the motion capture that they used for the game.

If you weren't aware, Mortal Kombat was groundbreaking in many ways, including the way that they used real people's motions and put them into the game. Most of the actors played more than one character in the game. Obviously, it was easy enough to have the same person play Scorpion, Sub Zero, and Reptile.

The beginning of this video gives a brief explanation of how they captured the actors' motions.
