It's awards show season, and the most recent to hit the small screen was the 2020 Golden Globe Awards on NBC. The host, Ricky Gervais, held no punches stating that this was the final time he was hosting the awards, so he doesn't care anymore...he was joking, he never did (care).

From ripping on the Hollywood Foreign Press for being racist to other Hollywood headliners like Felicity Huffman who allegedly made the license plate for the limo in which he arrived, Leonardo DiCaprio's choice in dates, specifically their age, Harvey Weinstein, and Martin Scorcese who recently commented on the Marvel franchise, there were plenty of targets for Gervais in the room.

The lack of racial diversity was also a topic of conversation in nominations, as well as Netflix, Apple TV (and the working conditions of workers overseas), the endless run of sequels, and joking about how if ISIS started a streaming service, celebrities would be lining up for work.

He even managed to throw in a Jeffrey Epstein reference, saying "Shut up. I know he's your friend, but I don't care. You had to make your own way here on your own plane, didn't ya."

Gervais also took the opportunity to address the award winners, informing them that the awards show was not a platform for espousing political discussions. They know nothing about the real world, accept your awards, thank your agent, your god and f*** off.

Baby Yoda was also referenced in a joke regarding Joe Pesci, after which Gervais commented, "I love you man, don't have me whacked."

If you've got 8 minutes, sit back and enjoy some roasting of Hollywood celebrities as you've rarely seen on national television before.
