Richard Sherman says the reason the Seattle Seahawks defense was so effective against Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl was because they figured out what his hand signals meant. On one hand, that's pretty amazing... on the other hand, that's pretty dumb to reveal. Believe me, I'm not mad at the fact he just told Sean Payton and Drew Brees what they need to do to beat them next season... not mad at all...

Here's what Sherman told the MMQB:

"We knew what route concepts they liked on different downs, so we jumped all the routes. Then we figured out the hand signals for a few of the route audibles in the first half.'

"He demonstrates the signs Manning used for various routes, and says he and his teammates were calling out plays throughout the game and getting them right. 'Me, Earl [Thomas], Kam [Chancellor]… we’re not just three All-Pro players. We’re three All-Pro minds,' Sherman says. 'Now, if Peyton had thrown in some double moves, if he had gone out of character, we could’ve been exposed."

I don't know, it seems to me this is the sort of information you DO NOT WANT you're opponents knowing. You revealed that you have the capability to figure our hand signals from arguably one of the best Quarterbacks to have ever played the game. What do you think every team in the NFL is going to NOT do now against the Seahawks? He also told teams how to beat them.
