Reggie Bush’s First NFL Touchdown Has A Special Connection To Lafayette [VIDEO]
Reggie Bush will always have a special connection to Lafayette.
The Saints first draft pick in the Loomis/Payton era decided he was calling it a career this week, but as we look back at the Super Bowl champion's great NFL career, we realized the shifty running back's first NFL touchdown had a little bit of Lafayette flavor.
The NFL released a video of Reggie's career highlights and my sales manager reminded me that he was featured in the clip of Bush's first touchdown back on October 8, 2006. When I looked back at the video, he was definitely in the video, going ballistic on the sidelines as Reggie cruised past the goal line for the first time ever in his NFL career.
He was there in full band parent volunteer mode for his daughter who was a drum major for the Lafayette High marching band. They had entertainment duties for the matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and as they lined up to prepare for the halftime show it put him in the right place at the right time.
So there you have it. Lafayette, Lousiana—forever embedded in Reggie Bush-NFL history.
