Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Ghost + More Lead 2016 Lollapalooza Lineup
It's a big year for Lollapalooza, which turns a quarter of a century old this year. And for the 25th anniversary, festival organizers have expanded the music weekend to four days, running July 28-31 at Chicago's Grant Park. They've also landed some top talent, with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead listed among the headliners.
The full lineup was revealed Wednesday morning, and while Lollapalooza maintains its eclectic nature featuring acts from across all genres, fans of rock will still have plenty to see over the late July days and nights. The opening night is Thursday, July 28 and this is arguably the lightest day for fans of rock. J. Cole and Lana Del Rey top the bill, while The Arcs are the primary rock band playing on Thursday.
Things definitely pick up on Friday (July 29), with Radiohead and Future sharing the headlining duties. Rock fans can also enjoy sets from Grammy-winning metal act Ghost and such rising rock acts as Foals, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls and The Struts.
On Saturday (July 30), Red Hot Chili Peppers and Disclosure share the headlining duties, but rock fans can also look to Jane's Addiction, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and Nothing But Thieves giving them their daily dosage of riffs. The festival closes out on Sunday night (July 31) with the reactivated LCD Soundsystem and pop star Ellie Goulding leading the way, while Die Antwoord, Silversun Pickups and Lindsey Stirling are among the early day highlights.
