7 years ago, Dimebag Darrell from Pantera/Damage Plan was gunned down live on stage. I'll never forget being on air that morning, getting ready for the Deck The Hall Ball that would be later that night, and getting a phone call from one of you telling me the news. Having had the opportunity to meet him quite a few times, I can tell you he was the most genuine musician/person I've EVER met. I even ran in to him at a gas station once...HE actually came up to ME and asked "Hey man, don't I know you from somewhere?" What's funny is at that gas station Dime was buying some beer but didn't have his I.D. I knew the owner and talked him into selling it to Dime. Anyway, this is a picture I've never shared until now. This is Pantera circa 1989, before "Cowboys From Hell" came out, even before they got their record deal.

The color on this pic is all messed up, but you can still see what's going on. I'm in the Batman T-shirt, and you'll notice, not very many tats yet on Dime or Phil! That's Phil with his arm around my Mom.
