Quiet Start to Work Week, Next Cool Down Comes Thursday
Yesterday was the epitome of a perfect fall day in Louisiana. The temperature in the afternoon was comfortable, but not cold. The skies were a deep azure color and there wasn't a cloud in sight. We can expect a similar day like that again today. The exception, there might be a few more clouds.
As a matter of fact, the next few days won't offer too much to write home about weatherwise. Skies will remain mostly sunny with a few more clouds moving into the area by Tuesday and Wednesday. However, the next great threat of rain in the area won't come until Thursday.
That's when our next cold front is expected to impact the area. As of now, forecasters believe as the front moves through the area on Thursday rain chances will be on the increase. As of now, there's a 60% chance of rain in the forecast for Thursday during the day and into the evening hours.
We'll have to fine-tune that forecast the closer we get to Thursday in order to give you a better idea of the timing on when the worst of the weather might affect the area. Behind the front, you can count on cooler temperatures. Friday's forecast high is only in the upper 50-degree range.
As of now the prospects for strong storms or severe storms don't appear to be likely, that, however, could change over time. It does appear as though this rain event will be confined to just one day with showers moving out of the area by Friday with clear skies and cooler temperatures forecast for the weekend.
