You hungry??? Go 'head and get you something FRIED! According to a study done in Spain, eating fried foods won't increase your risk for heart disease...as long as it's cooked right.

According to Inquistr, in Spain food is generally fried in sunflower or olive oil instead of lard like us Cajuns like it.

"The study looked at 40,000 people, paying strict attention to 606 cases of heart disease spread out evenly over the sample population between those who ate fried foods frequently and those who generally tended to avoid them altogether. According to a professor quoted in the study, similar studies conducted elsewhere yielded very similar results:
“Taken together, the myth that frying food is generally bad for the heart is not supported by available evidence,” he said.
But don’t grab the family for a late brunch at IHOP just yet, dear reader. There may not be any correlation between fried foods and heart disease, but such foods are still packed to the gills with calories, and still cause high blood pressure. Exercise with caution!"

So, THAT's the secret! I'm not too sure if I'm ready to give up my lard fried anything just yet. However, it IS something to consider if you're looking for a healthier fried food!
