With all this free agency, salary cap, and franchising Drew Brees talk, it really didn't look like New Orleans Saints wide receiver Mr. Marques Colston would be staying with us. That thought process went out the window for me today, because, thankfully, Marques signed a 5 year deal! See what he had to say and what his deal is worth after the jump!

"This was important to me, to be back with this team in this situation," said Colston. "I was not looking to chase free agency; it was more important for me to be back in our program, a program we have been building and a program I believe in. The Saints have been loyal to me from the beginning and I want to thank my agent Joel Segal and Saints GM Mickey Loomis for getting this deal done before free agency. Now it is time to get back to work and win some more rings."

This guy has my respect, man. For real. He's been nothing but good for the Saints organization. His playing (while he has had injuries) has been great. Check his stats from last year. He's never caused trouble. Always seems humble. Here's what his contract was reportedly for:

"The Times Picayune is reporting that the deal is worth between $35 million to $40 million with $18 million to $19 million guaranteed."

Good to have you back, Colston! Now let's take care of Drew!
