New Orleans Area Man At Low Risk For Ebola
A New Orleans area man is at a low risk for Ebola, and is being monitored out of 'abundance of caution'.
The man had just returned from an Ebola impacted country, so they are monitoring him at his home. His last day of monitoring will be November 5th.
Olivia Watkins, the DHH Communications Director, says:
“The individual is at low risk for Ebola, but we are monitoring him … out of an abundance of caution. He has no symptoms. He had no history of exposure to Ebola,” Watkins said.
The way the 21 day monitoring period works is there are morning and evening temperature readings, as well as checks for symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, muscle aches or bleeding.
