The website WalletHub took a look at the 62 biggest cities in the country and ranked the best places to live in 2016. One Louisiana city didn't fare too well. (More on that in a bit.)

If you want to live in the number one spot, you better be willing to sell a kidney to pay for rent. That's because that city is San Francisco. Its good qualities must make up for its crazy high housing prices.

The rankings were based on things like the best places for families, diversity, parks, education, traffic, overall health rates, the job market, weather, taxes, and home and rent prices.

Think about our state's biggest city for a second and the criteria above. Uh, yeah, not looking good for New Orleans.

But first, the rest of the top 10 after San Francisco:

  • Seattle
  • Raleigh
  • Colorado Springs
  • Denver
  • San Jose
  • Austin
  • San Diego
  • Minneapolis
  • Washington D.C.

On the other end of the list, the worst big city to live in is Detroit. No shock there. The rest of the bottom 10 include:

  • Memphis
  • Cleveland
  • Fresno
  • Philadelphia
  • Baltimore
  • Indianapolis
  • New Orleans
  • Riverside, California
  • Chicago
