Member Of Ohio State Marching Band Gets Asked To Try Out For Team After Kicking 55 Yard Field Goal [Video]
Austin Brizee, who plays trumpet in the Ohio State Marching Band, on a bet, kicked a 55 yard field goal. Yeah, he was surprised too.
I'm not sure how legit this next part is, but apparently Austin's friends bet him a burrito that he couldn't kick the 55 yarder. He surprised his friends, and himself when he actually did it!
The for sure thing that happened after he made the kick is the band's twitter account tweeted the video of the kick at Urban Myer, and special teams coach Kerry Coombs.
They didn't get a response from either of them. However, Eron Hodges, the Buckeyes' assistant director of player personnel, responded Wednesday morning with a tryout invitation:
Turns out that Ohio State kicker Tyler Durbin is a senior. So, the kicking position will be wide open!
